Greetings from Cape Cod and the Bunnell family — and welcome to our website! We are the owners of Anchorage on the Cove, and we love our corner of the Cape. Our family takes great pride in how we've transformed this wonderful spot — from a diamond in the rough, to one of the crown jewels of the Outer Cape. We are long-time animal lovers, and are pleased to say that some of our accommodations, starting in 2010, are pet-friendly. Many of you have met our friendly Lab Spencer, who is sometimes available to meet and play ball with our guests! Who are we? Our family consists of Kathy and Dennis, and son Jon who left the Cape to become a baseball scout; he's now with the Toronto BlueJays. We "old folks" bring a mix of experience in other fields — the paper industry, publishing, higher education, tourism marketing, and international business. Dennis and Kathy fell in love with the spot, and purchased the property in 1998. Since the 2009 departure of our property manager Sheryl Benson and her canine crew, there have been some changes. You'll see us a lot more, and we'll be making every effort to greet you personally to our home here. For our loyal guests who have been coming to stay with us for years, we are sad to report that Sheryl's sociable white cat Arthur (of the somersaults) passed away gently in September of 2009. Sheryl has set up a website www.TheListenerOnLine.com. Interested in fishing? Jon and his father are accomplished fishermen. As a matter of fact, if you look closely at the photo on the home page, you'll see the two of them fishing the flats of Town Cove, just steps away from our dock. (That's Foremast Cottage on the left; Bell Buoy is just out of view on the right.) How's the hospitality? Ask us about fishing, restaurants, biking, art galleries, kayaking, whale watching, the nearby drive-in movie theater — you get the idea. We're knowledgeable, and we get a big kick out of seeing our guests enjoy their vacations. What's the place like? The buildings at Anchorage on the Cove were originally built in the 1930s — the weathered shingles epitomize "old Cape Cod," now transformed to fit the needs of today, including free Wi-Fi and watercraft while you're with us. Three of our four cottages have decks right out over the water. We're proud of the fact that we continue to attract many returning guests over the years. Adults come back telling stories of growing up at Anchorage on the Cove, and of spending time here each summer as children and teenagers. Now they're bringing their own children and creating a new generation of memories. We're also proud of the many new marriages that have begun here, and of the honeymooners who keep a fond spot in their heart for us. Our romantic cottages are perfect to celebrate anniversaries. Some guests even continue to send us postcards and tell us news of their growing families. In fact, our first babymoon couple celebrated their honeymoon here 10 years before! Because we live next door, and keep our office in the main building of Anchorage on the Cove, you can be assured that we maintain a careful eye on our beautiful piece of Cape Cod! Website Photos People ask about the photos on our website. Yes, they were all taken on our property (except the lighthouse!). In fact, you've actually had a preview of a stay with us! Thank you for taking the time to visit us.
